Rigid Coaxial Transmission Line

Microwave Techniques manufactures rigid coaxial transmission line for high-power RF equipment and microwave transmission applications. Optimum power transfer for 50 ohm, 75 ohm, and 100 ohm systems is obtainable by utilizing conductivity copper inner conductors, supported by Teflon insulators. Microwave Techniques designs and manufactures all of its EIA rigid coaxial transmission lines to exacting electrical and mechanical specifications. To start a discussion, contact our dedicated team of high-power RF experts today.

Rigid Coaxial Transmission Line: Design and Overview

A general design overview and RF capabilities list specific to our work with rigid coaxial transmission line includes:

coaxial transmission line
  • Sizes from 7/8″ to 14″
  • Available in various lengths
  • Aluminum Alloy and Copper Alloy materials
  • Various flanges, connectors, and accessories

Using Teflon, Ceramic, or other insulator materials and employing special high-power connector designs, Microwave Techniques coaxial transmission line can operate at peak performance, even in the harshest environments.

RF Coax

Copper and aluminum alloy tubes are available for outer conductors and high conductivity copper tubes are utilized for inner conductors. Teflon line supports are used in standard tranmission lines and rexolite or ceramic supports are available for special applications. A variety of other components are available to complete your RF systems.

Standard Parts

Our standard coaxial transmission line products include the following common diameter sizes:

RF Coax Transmission Line
  • 7/8″ Transmission Line
  • 1-5/8″ Transmission Line
  • 3-1/8″ Transmission Line
  • 4-1/16″ Transmission Line
  • 6-1/8″ Transmission Line
  • 9-3/16″ Transmission Line
  • 12″ Transmission Line

EIA Rigid Coaxial Transmission Line

EIA rigid coaxial transmission line is designed and fabricated to exacting electrical and mechanical specifications. By utilizing high conductivity copper inner conductors that are supported by Teflon insulators, optimum power transfer for 50, 75, and 100 ohm systems is obtained. The outer conductors are precision drawn heavy wall copper tubing.

For maximum economy and minimum weight, Microwave Techniques recommends the use of aluminum outer conductors when a slight increase in attenuation will not adversely affect your subsystem requirements.

Find a list above for the more popular coaxial transmission line sizes. In addition, Microwave Techniques offers special diameter transmission line sections and square or rectangular transmission line for your special requirements. In high radiation areas where Terflon is not suitable, special polymer insulators or ceramic supports are available for sizes up to 14″ in diameter. For all other special requirements, contact our technical RF sales team for custom parts.
