Microwave Techniques MTX200 is a 200 kW microwave generator, engineered for high-power industrial microwave processing applications. As an evolution of our proven MTX series, the MTX200 doubles the power output of our standard units, with new high performance technology for efficiency, reliability, and control.

MTX200: The Intelligent 200 kW Microwave Power Source
With an advanced control system and a high-efficiency waveguide combiner design, the MTX 200 kW microwave generator redefines high-power microwave processing. Our design and development focuses on maintaining high efficiency with a simple but powerful control system that allows power output to be varied from 0 to 200 kW. Sub-components are fully integrated to provide the smallest overall footprint and achieve the highest efficiency. The control system dynamically controls frequency, injection power, and generator phase based on user requirements and innovative component monitoring and system-level detection circuits.

Features and Overview
Microwave Techniques 200 kW MTX200 generator provides safe, reliable, efficient, and intelligent microwave power to meet a wide range of requirements. The latest design features and options for the MTX200 includes:
Frequency Locking
The integral synthesizer, phase shifter and solid-state amplifiers combined with magnetron power supply and RF component improvements allow us to maintain frequency lock with well under 1kW of injection power. Low injection lock power is critical to ensure magnetron life and stability. Advanced frequency lock detectors continuously monitor each magnetron to provide an early indication that an unlocked condition may be imminent.
Maximizing Efficiency
Less than 0.5% losses vs. our industry-leading 100kW MTX100 standalone unit. The magnetron system has overall line to microwave efficiency ratings approaching 80% vs. 50-60% with competing solid-state units.

Compensated Circulators: A Path to Higher Magnetron Tube Performance
The compensated “mini-circulator” is used for signal injection. The small size provides the necessary space for power monitoring at the output of the magnetron while the high-performance assists in achieving the low injection power. Impedance protection is ensured through a 200 kW compensated circulator design based on Microwave Techniques’ latest technology used by nation laboratories for scientific applications. Both are monitored and controlled through the generator control system.

Scalability
Our approach is uniquely scalable, even for higher power levels, including 300 kilowatts, 400 kilowatts, or beyond. Above 200 kW, Microwave Techniques offers waveguide thermal and RF analysis to help select the ideal transmission components and sizes. For example, at 400kW, Microwave Techniques may recommend sizing up to WR1150 waveguide.
